There are several models in the Omega Speedmaster family. The iconic Moonwatch is 42mm and considered too large for most watch buyers today but it has a manual winding movement with a hexalite-acrylic crystal that invites scratches. A watch for the enthusiast and purist but for the majority of the watch community this is the one to have.
This Omega Speedmaster Automatic chronograph is 39mm, an optimum size in today’s trend. It is a single owner’s watch from new and watch has been polished to factory specs so presents fresh as new now. The sapphire glass makes it a great daily watch and shares the same iconic Moonwatch facade.
This is a post-2005 model and manufacture quality surpasses those from the 90s era. Watch is very well made and rated to 100m vs 30m for earlier models but it is not a dive watch.
Official information is available here from Omega and it has been discontinued. A good buy and uncommon watch in the pre-owned market. It takes on leather, NATO or rubber strap easily.
The smaller 38mm replacement model offers Co-axial escapement and retails for S$8100.00 now with little discount from authorised dealers.
