The pilot chronograph is best exemplified by IWC with their long history associated with military and aviation. This beautiful chronograph has a sunray brown dial with white registers and Arabic numerals. It is a discontinued limited edition model of the Antoine de Saint Exupéry series with a matching brown Italian Santoni leather strap. Only 1630 numbered pieces were produced and this watch was purchased for S$7220.00 with tax invoice. It is also a very wearable watch with a 42mm case instead of the latter series that went big and became regular production pieces; making this watch far more exclusive than the latter series.
This is a single owner’s watch purchased new from Sincere Watch Ltd (SG) and comes with complete accessories. The watch has just been polished and presents in near mint condition. The original Santoni strap is a recent new replacement & movement was serviced a year ago (non-agent). Glass has micro hairlines on the anti-glare coating and not visible to naked eyes. The lume glows with a beautiful blue light.
The back cover is engraved with the portrait of Antoine who would perish in a P-38 warplane off the coast of Marseille, France. His initial “A” can be seen on the lower subsidiary register.
