Vintage Continental C.1950s 37mm manual winding Anti-magnetic chronograph Venus movement in water-proof Steel case

A handsome 37mm vintage chronograph in excellent condition throughout in a water-proof style steel case with pump pushers, screw-lock back & faceted lugs. The original dial presents in near mint condition except for some aged lacquer marks on the edge but negligible. Hands are original with aged radium that glows under UV-light. The movement was removed and the case sympathetically cleaned inside-out while the acrylic crystal was polished to remove scratches (with some marks if u look under loupe). There are no rust from the water-proof steel case which shows careful ownership over the decades.

The movement also received a cosmetic cleaning then oiled so the chronograph functions very well with finesse, each click is crisp and returns with vigour. Movement is a Venus Calibre 188 which is a highly respected manufacturer that supplied Breitling, Omega and many others.

This is a high quality chronograph made by a French firm which has the movement stamped France and exported for the US market. The dial is signed SWISS EB and FRANCE at the bottom. This chronograph ticks all the boxes for the desirable features and would cost several times more under a luxury brand. It will be difficult to find another vintage at our price in this quality and condition.
