The Pam249 was launched in 2006 as a 47mm limited edition Radiomir Base model with the “California” dial (mixed Roman & Arabic nos used by Rolex) & a glass back. It is fitted with an acrylic crystal on the front while a spare is given in the box. Panerai collectors are obsessed with the original WWII relics & the factory knows it so this model was created as an identical piece to the original but for a fraction of the value. Only 1936 pieces were made to commemorate the year that this model was first introduced.
Watch is carefully used & shows no dents or major scratches with just a few very faint hairlines here & there that’s hardly visible to the naked eyes. The original tan leather strap shows light use and will last for quite a long while more.
The black velvet lining in the box has deteriorated and is powdering.
This is the first California model & was one of the most sought after Radiomir from the special edition series as it has several features that resembles the original WWII versions and among them, the crown is signed OP for Officine Panerai. This model was trading for over S$16000 at it’s peak.
