This is a very rare watch. A late production Fantasy Retro with Mickey Mouse on an automatic movement with jumping hour and retrograde minutes by Gérald Genta made under Bvlgari ownership.
This was the last series Disney collaboration with Mickey Mouse in an Aviator’s theme while there was another in Sailor theme and an F1 driver with just 50pcs made for the first Singapore GP F1 night race. According to old information, only 150pcs of this were made. The production and brand ceased to exist after Bvlgari absorbed it into their own after that.
In 2011, LVMH acquired a controlling share of Bvlgari and in late 2023, they revived the Gérald Genta brand again to celebrate the legacy of the watch maker who’s been dubbed the Picasso of the watch making world.
This is a fabulous one owner’s watch that’s spent more than half of it’s time on a winder & seen very little use since new. It has never been polished while the original strap has been replaced and there are many after-market choices available. These watches were sold for more than S$11,000 when new and value has risen substantially in recent years due to the strong interest on Gérald Genta and the appreciation for Mickey Mouse products.
