After one and a half decade, this Royal Oak Offshore Grand Prix is still one of the most unique model from Audemars Piguet due to the racing theme & outrageous design. The watch was a creation directly inspired by F1 racing and was born out of exotic materials such as forged carbon, black ceramic and titanium while the strap incorporates alcantara that’s often associated with racing cars.
This was one of very few Royal Oak Offshore chronograph that was offered with a glass back to show case the movement & has a unique case design with special allen-key bolts and rectangular pushers.
The front and rear glasses including the over-sized matt angular titanium shoulder guards are in perfect condition to the naked eyes. This is a single owner’s watch from new and sparingly used so presents in near mint condition.
This watch was trading for over S$60K in the hey days and is much more reasonable now. Only 1750 pieces were made and the condition is vital because some of these forged carbon cases have chips that cannot be repaired and a replacement case by AP is in excess of S$10K.
