Description
Pre-owned. Comes with orig. red box (no outer box) and no paper.
This gorgeous 42mm Pasha Chronograph is in splendid condition. This is a rather rare watch in the pre-owned market. There were two versions of the Pasha Chronograph during this period, a lower-end Sea-timer version with ETA movement that has a sporty design with rotating bezel and round buttons while this, the elegant version that’s fitted with the coveted JLC movement costing several thousands more when new with a retail of US$11500.00 but both have since been discontinued.
Cartier’s Pasha chronographs have always used some of the best automatic movements, notably from Frédéric Piguet but as that has been a Swatch Group’s exclusive so it was dropped over time. This Cartier uses a Jaeger LeCoultre sourced movement which is of course a very respectable company & it belongs to the same parent Richemont Group. This Cartier 8100 MC movement was a collaboration with JLC and a custom order from the calibre 750.
If you’re seeking the style of Cartier & the technical ingenuity of Jaeger then this would be a wise choice an a very elegant sports chronograph for the gentleman at a most affordable price.
Condition: This watch has been carefully worn since new and remains in excellent condition but we did a light polish to remove the surface user marks and watch is good as new now.
History: In early 1930s, the Pasha of Marrakesh, Thami El Glaoui, a life-long cherished client and friend Louis Cartier requested for a water resistant watch to use on his swimming activities, Cartier created a round watch for him in 18ct gold and this would go on to inspire the Pasha collection named after the man. Conceived for public by Gérald Genta in 1985, the Pasha de Cartier collection has since undergone many facelifts over the years and as recent as 2020.
