Here’s a very attractive vintage necklace made by England’s Mappin & Webb and is stamped. This necklace is at least three decades or older and is kept in our vault for over twenty years.
It has 220 brilliant-cut natural diamonds with 16 Marquise-cut natural diamonds in VVS and F/H colours weighing approximately 20 carats. The 9 oval blue sapphires weigh approximately 11 carats and total weight of this necklace is 59.73 grams. It measures 43mm long.
The natural Blue Sapphires have SI clarity with Good cut & indications of thermal enhancement. Blue sapphires are mostly heated and accepted in auctions.
Platinum is the noblest metal and most difficult to work with vs the softer gold and usually reserved for the finest pieces made by a master jeweller. This is rare and possibly a piece unique for collection.
This necklace has been certified by Nanyang Gemological Institute with a certificate on Dec 31 2016.

The company’s origin traces to a silver workshop founded in Sheffield in 1775.
