C.1943 Omega 48mm Open face Pocket watch with white enamel dial in Nickel alloy case

Strangely, we don’t get many Omega pocket watches despite the popularity of the brand but here’s a basic piece that we acquired many years ago and is now for sale.

This is a basic watch and something that would’ve fulfilled the specifications of military issue during WW2 when it was made. The white enamel dial remains impeccable and flawless. The original nickel case shows general marks everywhere but nothing really major and the covers close tightly. The bow ring has bent but works as it should.

The gold gilt movement presents like new which is important as experienced watch collectors will look for the quality of movements. There are no visible marks to the plates which means this watch was not abused by watchmakers over the decades and little sign of rust which means it’s kept away from moisture. The original hands are neat and presents very well for it’s age.

A good antique Omega and great value.

You’ll find many frankenstein Omega pocket watches on ebay going for cheap but most are put together with non matching case or with broken enamel dial and missing parts. Some have forged military history to uplift the values and these are watches that you would want to avoid.
