C.1949 Omega large 36mm Ref.2678 round case with scarab lugs manual wind and center seconds in 18KYG

This is a very rare vintage reference model. Omega with sweep center seconds housed in a large 36mm case with wide bezel and unusual lugs. The original dial has light patina and is in two tone silvered with cross-hair lines and appliqué fancy arrow-tipped solid gold hour indices. The in-house manufacture movement presents in near mint condition as seen.

The serial number on the movement is traced to 1949 manufacture while there’s an engraving date “25.IV.1955” on the inside of the back cover. This watch came to us from an inheritance and belonged to the grandfather of the vendor. It is easily 70yrs old and to remain in this condition is quite remarkable. The watch is doing +/- 7 secs/day in a few positions which is fantastic and takes about 23 winds to full power reserve.
