C.1955 vintage IWC 35mm round Cal.89 manual winding with sweep center seconds in Steel

A very respectable example from the mid-1950s IWC gent’s watch in a large 35mm steel case. Archive research indicates that this movement was manufactured in 1949 and cased later in 1955 for the civilian market.

We have dismantled the watch to study and you can see that there are just little signs of corrosion one the edge of the back cover for this steel watch which is quite a rare find for a seventy years watch. The back cover snaps very tight which is a good sign of little use. We have applied anti-rust treatment on the rims of the case for protection. The dial and movement are in very good condition as seen.

What we have here is fitted with one of the most respectable movement from IWC, Calibre 89 which was produced from 1946 to 1979. It was developed out of the Calibre 83 (Dirty dozen) and a military grade movement that was supplied to the British War department from the late 1940s.
