A very attractive chronograph with a large 38mm girth in 18ct Pink Gold. It movement has just been overhauled and works well now. The case has little marks but evidence of dents on the case band due to the hollow gold case construction which is common and presents in decent condition while the chamfered edges on the lugs are highly visible. The original dial is in near mint condition with applied pink gold appliqué and and matching pink golf hands. It has multi-coloured markings in red and blue for the tele and tachmeter scales which is very attractive. It takes about 17 winds on the crown to full reserve & movement beats strong after the service.
The movement shines and is protected by a base metal cover which acts as an anti-magnetic feature.
The Landeron Cal.51 movement was an improvement over the 48 which was in production from 1937 to 1970 and has a Cam-switching control vs column wheel. The 2 o’clock button simply starts the stopwatch while the 4 o’clock button stops and resets to zero.
A very attractive and large chronograph that’s over 50 years old and in gold.
