Description
Vintage. Comes with period vintage Omega box set.
A very rare model delivered with it’s original period box. This Omega Chronograph Ref.OJ 2277 was first introduced in 1943 and production ended in 1960 for the first series. Our specimen here is the second series and outfitted with the legendary Cal.321 column wheel movement by Lemania that was also found in the famous Speedmaster Moon watch when NASA took them for testing and subsequent space missions.
The original dial on this watch is in near mint condition. This is a small watch but a very attractive timepiece fitted with a custom-made Bund style alligator strap (with gold threading to match the markers on the dial) makes it very usable by big wrists. This strap is worth S$500 and easily replaceable for something less conspicuous. The case is in equally mint condition with the back cover shut really tight when closing after inspection. All functions checked and keeping time. This is a non-water resistant model with the square pushers and snap-on back so please avoid any moisture on it.
It will be very very difficult to find another in this condition.
Official information by Omega can be found here.
Omega has re-introduced the Cal.321 Speedmaster and is now available at a princely sum of S$22350.00.
