Description
A neo-vintage, this model is almost 1/4 century old now. Comes with orig. wooden box & dated paper in pouch. (A later period user manual is given & no COSC cert)
Fresh to the market. This is a very rare watch from 1999 and we have not seen one for more than a decade. Whether you’re a Paneristi or new to the brand, and want something special then this is the Panerai that you must buy and collect. Most people have actually forgotten about this Pam0028 as it was only made for two years in 1998 and 99 while the steel version Pam0027 went on for one more year. Officially, only 1500 were produced for A (500) & B (1000) series for this black PVD model but according to this site, only 650 were eventually delivered, making this a truly rare watch.
In 2009, Panerai launched a one time limited re-issue 1000pcs of the same with luminova dial that was delivered in a big box and LE scroll. Our watch here pre-dates it and is the true pioneer production.
The watch comes with a solid steel back cover & has a single screw rod for the lugs to change strap instead of the current pusher-pin style. The black hob-nail dial with power reserve @ six & a central seconds make this a very unique watch.
This watch was part of a large private collection and was never worn by the owner hence the mint condition that we see now, there’s no wear to the case and presents fresh as new but no service history as well. This watch has never been opened and surprisingly winds smoothly and time very well. These were fitted with COSC chronometer rated movements that’s basically an ETA2892-2A which is super reliable and a Soprod module added on top for the power reserve indicator.
A watch not to be missed and will surely stand out in any watch collection. It is near impossible to find another in this condition now and very reasonably priced.
