Description
Brand New, unused watch. Sealed, delivered in plastic shipping box and comes with everything like the wooden box+outer box, manual, tag, pictogram card & dated paper in pouch. Warranty card was dated by the dealer in 2017 and has expired.
This watch was kept away in a vault, never used, never sized and occasionally wound up to ensure that the movement works.
This particular Speedmaster Moonwatch was produced for only 2.5yrs till 2016, story has it that this was an unsuccessful project between Omega and Moulinsart SA, owner of Herge’s work on the cartoon The adventures of Tin Tin where in the 1950 Vol 16, Destination Moon (Les aventures de Tintin. Volume 16, Objectif Lune) would certainly be very relevant with the most famous Moonwatch. However, as fate has it that sometimes, an aborted project leads to a very desirable product by collectors and this is one of them. The chequered red and white pattern along the perimeter on the dial of this Omega makes it one of the most unmistakable feature that’s visible from afar.

It is estimated that no more than 2000 pieces were made and the engravings on the back cover is filled with red paint instead of the usual black which further enhances the specialty of this watch.
This is a must have for all watch collectors as it’s one of the most important modern production watch from Omega. The Speedmaster Moonwatch has accompanied NASA astronauts on no less than Six Lunar missions.
