Description
Vintage. No box but has factory issued archive certificate dating this watch to 1948 manufacture and subsequent sale on 23 November of 1948.
The Patek Philippe Top-Hat is one of the most famous rectangular wrist watch of the mid-20th century for the brand. This example was made just three years after the devastating WW2 and would’ve been owned by a wealthy individual. The watch has been polished over the years but a Swiss 18ct Helvetia hallmark is clearly visible on the case band at 4 o’clock so the case is not over polished but there are some old marks on the case and we do not want to over polish to remove them.
It is fitted with a rectangular form movement which is highly prized by collectors and finished to the highest standard even in those years. A highly collectible timepiece for the most discerning collector of fine watches.
This vintage is almost 70yrs old and will continue to serve you very well. A quality vintage that won’t break your savings.
This watch is not water-resistant nor shock-proof and certainly not the most accurate watch. Vintages must be treated with love and respect and they’ll return with immeasurable pleasure.
